This is a portion of Raymond Lustig's "Boys' Ambition," which was premiered Aug. 24, 2013, at the Fasig-Tipton Pavilion as part of the Chamber Music Festival of Lexington.
Nathan Cole, First Associate Concertmaster of LA Phil and Director of the Chamber Music Festival of Lexington, KY commissioned composer Matt Ulery of Triptych (Zach Brock, Matt Ulery, Jon Deitemyer) to write for jazz trio and classical string quartet, featuring violinist Zach Brock. The result is "Become Giant" for string sextet + drums. It is modern chamber jazz. Romantic. Pretty. Intimate. Driving. Dark. Bright. Tension. Release. And filled with gratitude.
This work was commissioned by Nathan Cole and the UBS Chamber Music Festival of Lexington and premiered on August 29, 2010 in the Fasig-Tipton Pavilion in Lexington, KY, with Alexander Fiterstein, clarinet; Nathan Cole, violin; Priscilla Lee, cello; and Alessio Bax, piano.
In celebration of the Chamber Music Festival in Lexington, KY, WindSync performed a 15-minute pop-up concert at the corner of Short and Mill, 8/14/13. They performed works by Astor Piazzolla.

The performances from this album were recorded at the second UBS Chamber Music Festival of Lexington, held in August 2008. the site was the sales pavilion of the Fasig-Tipton Company in Lexington, Kentucky. Usually devoted to the sale of high-priced horses, thee pavilion proved to be an outstanding chamber music venue. There was an audience of more than 350 presents at each of the concert from which these live recording are taken.
